Extra Extra, Read All About It, CT Grey Get the Wheel

Thanks to all of the Grey who made it to New Horizon’s Village for the 9th Annual Fight for the Wheel.  A motley crew of the Grey showed up to take on the Connecticut Jammers for their annual bout.  The Grey, clear underdogs in the match, scrapped and rolled through 4 quarters of Quad rugby to emerge victorious.  When the dust settled and the final whistle blown, the scoreboard read:  Grey 43  Jammers 39.

Bud had this to say, “Ah, the shame of it all.  After 9 years of exceptional coaching, the Jammers broke my heart today.  However, taking the high road, we will not blame this loss on the high number of turnovers committed by the Jammers or the fact that the officiating by Ricky Famiglietti, Captain of the Jammers, was sorely wanting, the Grey, led ably by Al Steiger, one of the Jammers coaches and a longtime Grey, out-fought and out-hustled the Jammers.  The coveted “Wheel” will be dusted off and turned over to the Grey at the Annual Banquet. In the only bright spot in an otherwise tragic day was the fact that, through the generosity of the Jammers, the Grey and spectators, we raised $327.00 for the Michael Jones Trust to help Jonesy, the Albany Knick player who broke his neck, in his recovery efforts.”

See y’all at the Banquet.
